Description

Дремучий лес is a Russian board game with RPG elements. The game field is randomly built before each game from square cards of the locations, backside-up. Each player starts the game from "his" edge of a field, and travels across the woods, moving on a vertical and a horizontal directions. When he stops at a upturned location card, it has to be opened. Each player has one of six possible characters: Киевский грамотей (Kiev Sage), Свейский купец (Swedish Merchant), Черниговская дружинница (Chernigov Fighting Girl), Степная шаманка (Steppe Witch-doctor), Заезжий викинг (Visitant Viking), Печенежский разведчик (Pecheneg Scout). Cards from the playing cards deck are dealt to the players. They can use them to obtain useful items and NPC fellow travelers, to kelp with a quest, or to fight other players. The game is over, when all the locations cards are uncovered. Game atmosphere is impregnated by Russian fairy tales.
