"Consumer simulates the economics of installment buying and will interest groups studying problems of consumer education, home economics, mathematics, citizenship and democracy. The structure of the game encourages the consumers to weight the added cost of financing a purchase against the additional value of having the item immediately; to determine whether their purchases are yielding the greatest utility for their money; and to guard against unanticipated events not generally covered by insurance."
