Description

The game is about a crucial point in the history of Russia. The Time of Troubles (Smuta) at the beginning of the 17th century. After the mysterious death of the Great Prince Dmitry, son of Ivan the Terrible, begins the political and military struggles depicted in this game. 2-5 players each represent a faction in the struggle for the throne of the Tsar. Military and Political Strategy Game that is played through movement of units on a location based map connected by a road net. Victory points are acquired for the control of cities and fortresses, battles won and placing a Tsar on the throne. Leaders are used both in battle with military units as well as to gain control of the cities and forts. Other Characters are used as well to manipulate political events. Card play is used to influence the course of the game. Military units are recruited or purchased during play.
