Create your own adventure on the Appalachian Trail as you hike your way along the nearly 2,200 mile footpath from Georgia to Maine. Prepare for your own WALK IN THE WOODS with this fun new game! GEAR, CHANCE, and CHALLENGE Cards define your journey. GEAR - Be prepared and learn to use the essential items during the game when faced with emergency scenarios. CHANCE - Encounter opportunities to race ahead, hazards that slow your pace, or choose to stop and enjoy the trail. CHALLENGE - Play and learn about hiking first aid, LEAVE NO TRACE camping and backpacking skills, Plant and Animal I.D., and Trail History. Chance and GEAR Cards interact during the game. When faced with an emergency, if you are carrying the proper equipment, then you can continue your hike. Collect points as you correctly answer questions, identify plants and animals, and use the gear in your pack to help navigate through perilous situations that arise! The game ends when the first player completes a Thru Hike--arriving at either Katahdin or Springer Mountain. All players then tally the points from their Trail Journal cards and the player with the most points is the Winner! This game is a fun and engaging way to prepare new hikers (kids scouts, students) for a their next adventure! It is also great for seasoned adult hikers to reminisce and test their knowledge! (Did I hear "alternate rules" with adult beverages?) It is also perfect for COUCH POTATOES because it lets them hike the AT from the comfort and safety of their living room!
